Ovarian Awareness of Kentucky (OAK) is a nonprofit group based in Louisville, Kentucky, that works to raise funds for research and testing for ovarian cancer. There are several ways that you can get involved in OAK:

• Join an event committee. We need people to help in the planning and execution of our events. 
• Volunteer. Volunteers are necessary to be able to further our mission and spread awareness. We have several volunteer opportunities throughout the year, including health fairs, public awareness events, and more.
• Join Survivors Teaching Students (STS). We need GYN survivors to join our STS program and tell their stories to medical professionals and students to educate them on the silent symptoms of ovarian cancer.
• Get support!  Speak with other survivors about the cancer journey, gain insight into how to live with this disease, and celebrate the hurdles you have overcome. Our support group meetings are on the Second Monday of Every Month at Gilda’s Club Kentuckiana.
• Community Outreach. You’ll often find representatives of OAK raising awareness of ovarian cancer throughout Louisville, Kentucky by hosting lunch and learns, attend health fairs, or speak with medical students as a survivor.
• And last but not least, advocate!
